Meet some of the wonderful families that have our puppies and hear what they have to say.
Hi there Mary Anne-
Just a quick note to tell you how much we enjoy our puppy, Charlie. He is almost 5 months now and it has been such a joy to have him in our lives. I’ve had other labs before and he is just so calm. He goes to Tahoe with us regularly and everyone we meet is admired by his coat and calls him a little bear. He is quite the ladies’ man! While in normal light he looks black but the sunlight makes him look chocolate. Training him is such a breeze. We feel so fortunate to have him in our lives!
Thanks again for providing a wonderful companion for us.

Hi Maryanne,
I hope you are well!
I just wanted to let you know that Choco is doing great and she is loving her new home! She is the cutest thing ever and had no problem transitioning to her new family. :)
Hi Mary Anne,
I hope you and your family are doing well. I just wanted to give you an update on little miss Allegra. She is doing great and growing like crazy. She loves car rides and playing with the hose. She gives good kisses and hasn’t even cried when getting her shots. Our vet loves her and has commented on what a great temperament she has. She is about 20-21 lbs now and tacking on a couple of pounds per week. We will start puppy classes the beginning of October as I had to wait for a class that fit into my teaching and work schedule.
Attached is a picture of Allegra waiting for her breakfast this morning. It’s hard not to love that face! Gina
Hi Mary Anne,
I just wanted to share how beyond thrilled we are with our Hope and Boots girl!! She has an amazing temperament, both mellow and playful depending on the situation. She loves to cuddle and frequently falls asleep on our feet while we watch TV. We figure that is a Boots trait! She also is an outstanding swimmer and retriever. We can't keep her out of the water and she took to fetch with almost no training. Physically, she is absolutely gorgeous, with a sweet face and the stocky English frame. She also has a silky and soft coat, which is an added bonus. She brings us joy everyday and we feel so blessed to have her in our lives. Thank you for breeding such a terrific dog, both in personality and beauty.
All the best,
Courtney
Hi Mary Anne,
Just though you’d like to see that Ruby, who has become the loving center of our family, is doing well. She is a wonderful puppy and everyone who meets her falls instantly in love!
I’ve started puppy training at the Marin County Humane Society and she is the star of the class — the youngest one and the one who is learning the fastest.
We adore her.
Hope all is well,
Lisa and Tom Woolf
Hi Mary Anne,
It has been forever since I last wrote. I hope you and family are all well. Both boys, Duke (Hadley x Nick) and Jett (Lacy x Newman) are flourishing. Duke was our first pup from you. As he is nearing two next month, he is a beautiful boy. Duke is quiet and unassuming. He waits for his ear scratch as he comes in from outside and the occasional love in the evening but he is truly comfortable in his own skin and his place in our pack. I make a point to take him on special errands, just he and I , because he asks so little and loves his solo trips. He is always a model canine when we go out. Jett is now eighteen months and he is a Lab’s lab. He is so smart. Has learned all his commands from an early age observing Duke’s training. He is so willing and I often call him my shadow. Just a sweetheart who loves everyone and wants to have fun. We had an unusual incident this Sunday. I try to take them all to our local dog park at least three times a week. We are currently renovating a home in Auburn on twenty two acres and they all have a pond and the acreage during the week but since we currently have six Labs ( I am fostering three female pups) I like to get them out of their pack mentality and let them socialize. This Sunday a mentally unstable woman brought her pet bunny into the dog park. Mind you this dog park is over three acres and at the time had approximately thirty large dogs in it. Of course she lets the bunny down on the ground and he takes off. There I am with six hunting dogs, recalling them to me, horrified for the bunny. My three pups ( five months old) are clueless and ignore the action but Duke and Jett are on point and by the time the bunny reaches our end of the Park Jett has it in his mouth without barely moving. Another dog owner, who frequently visits with us, tells Jett to drop it , which he does. Poor thing is bloody, it hit his mouth on the fence, Jett grabbed it by its back end. Now for the interesting part, the woman goes ballistic on Jett. Starts going towards him threatening harm. I recalled him and told him down which he did and this woman physically attacks me and puts her hands on my throat Out of nowhere Jett rockets his 23.5 inch 85 pound body through the air and takes this woman to the ground. He never snarled nor showed any teeth. At this point others in the Park had called Animal Control and the Local Sheriffs which arrived and saw the entire event. I was so scared Animal Control was going to Taser Jett or some other awful scenario. It took three Sheriffs to get the woman in handcuffs. I was worried for nothing. Jett practically licked the Animal Control Officers and Sheriffs to death. Luckily they saw the entire altercation and Jett was deemed my hero. I am SO proud of his actions. If the Sheriffs had not arrived when they did I don’t know what the outcome would have been. I think I was most proud that he just knocked her down but never bit her. Thank goodness we did not have to find out if he would have bit her or not. In true Lab subservience I had to reassure Jett the entire night. He thought he was in trouble for his actions. Duke, Jett and I walk a little over two miles every night and Duke has the real prey instinct. We have worked for months on walking nicely when he sees birds, cats and other small dogs or animals. Jett doesn’t usually blink an eye while Duke is hunt mode. As horrifying as the incident was, my motherly pride sneaks through that it was my low riding, muscle bound happy-go-lucky Lab that not only got the bunny but came to my rescue. He may have lost his goofy puppy reputation at the dog park this weekend but has gained the respect of its residents he deserves. As usual I have written a short story. I thought you would like to hear how one of your pups has become my true hero. I’ll try to send a picture of the boys soon.
Best wishes for you and Family,
Danna Mosley

The girls are doing great and mom is in love
Thank You.
Hi Mary Anne - hope you and your family are doing well. We wanted to let you know it's almost been a year since we first meet Buddy and took him home. Today is his birthday so "happy birthday to our Buddy!" He celebrated with a morning walk and special doggie treats. He is doing great ! A big part of our lives and huge part of our family. Thank you again for letting us adopt him. Such a great Dog.
Hi Mary Anne,
Here are a few pictures of Sarge - he is the best puppy ever - he stole our hearts the minute we got him home. We love him so much - thank you for letting us have one of your beautiful labs.
Hi Mary Anne
This is Allan Corradi from Stockton. Myself, Sally and my son Vince picked up the last female puppy offered from the Abby/Newman litter of 3/8 this past June 6th. I’ve been wanting to send a note to you for some time.
This was truly one of the most rewarding purchases I’ve made in a long time. “Shasta” is all and more than we expected. Healthy, smart, funny, playful an absolute joy to have and be a family member.
We take her all over and she makes friends with everyone both 4 and 2 legged. Training went pretty good and will do more this fall. She just crossed 50 lbs. and will be 7 months on the 8th.
Sending a pic from two weeks ago. Thanks again.
Allan Corradi
Good morning Maryanne and Ron,
I hope you had as wonderful a summer as we did. The pups got to travel the country this summer.
Duke (Nick/Hadley) is now eleven months, boy how time flies. He just came home from 15 days of advanced training.
Jett (Newman/Lacy) just turned six months and has started Puppy obedience. The busy summer put us a bit behind on his obedience classes but he learned so much from the older dogs. He already knows sit/place/wait/and walk on the loose leash. He is VERY eager to please and learns everything super-fast. I just let the dogs be wild banshees and play on the beach most of the summer.
We are so pleased with our lovely boys. We have referred several people your way. My son’s Grandparents are looking for a Lab, I hope they come see you. I sent Lucas’ father your link with your beautiful current litters to share with his parents. I hinted at your retired dogs since his parents are in their seventies. Although they are very very active I thought an older dog might fit the bill. Not sure what they will decide. We cannot thank you enough for our boys.
Warmest Regards,
Danna and Lucas Ryan
Rylee has turned out be gorgeous. Her disposition matches her looks. She's an absolute love. We thank you so much!
Hi. Hope you are all doing well. Hooper is now 5 months old and we adore him. He has the most wonderful personality. He loves people yet calmly meets them. He has yet to find a person, dog or other animal that he does not like. He was the easiest dog to house break we have ever had. Within two weeks he had the doggie door down. Granted he has his puppy moments and everything goes in his mouth but all in all he is wonderful. We are on out first week at the lake this summer and he loves the water. Within two days he is leaping off the boat to go to shore and sleeping as we tube around.
Thanks for such a great dog. I am sure he is going to bring us years of happiness
Kellie
Hi Maryanne,
Hope all is well on the Sterling Ranch. This is my Kimba the White Lion (his name definitely suits this big boy with a beautiful coat and mane!) this morning on our walk...:-)
Newman x Abby (2/6/12).
Kimba is so smart, so sweet, so comprehensive, not to mention he is one big, gorgeous hunk of a dog. We love him so much.
xoxo Valerie Harris
Hi Mary Anne and Ron!
We wanted to give you an update on how well Dan is adjusting. We have renamed him "Nalu" which means 'wave' (ocean) in Hawaiian. It was Kimo's middle name... so we did it in honor of him.
What a smart, sweet, sensitive, precious puppy he is!!! He is healing on a leash wonderfully, knows his new name, comes when he is called, and LOVES to go everywhere with us!
He sleeps on a fluffy bed we got from Costco, on the side of our bed. Gracie Joy slept in a sleeping bag in our room so she could sleep with him!
He even went paddling today for the first time! He has his vet appointment in the morning, another swim planned at the dock, and a grooming appointment on Saturday!
Again... we can't thank you enough! We love him so much. It feels like he's always been a part of us.
Hope you are all well!
YEAH! I’ve been watching your site every day to see if the puppies were been born.
So excited.!
We celebrated Duke’s five month birthday last night at the dog park with friends.
Duke has been attending lacrosse games every weekend, practicing his manners and puppy obedience.
He has been a prince.
He’s been dubbed the equipment manager because if left unattended, during practices, he raids all the boys gear bags and steals gear/balls/mouth pieces…whatever suits his fancy. Even house keys.
We have only had double headers each weekend. Last year we played mostly single games but many new teams have been added to our roster. (We are a new club, this is our third year)
Duke sits quietly, accepts attention from ALL the player’s younger siblings and waits for breaks between the games to play with other dogs brought to the games.
We took some pictures with my son’s gear bag. Sorry about the ooglie eyes. These are from the phone and I can’t control the flash.
Samson at almost 15 weeks. He has been a great addition to our family. He is very smart and just like you promised a complete show stopper.
The five year old is the funniest. She and him are joined at the hip. We all love him he is already a great dog. Everywhere we go people love him...he has been sleeping through the night since the third night we brought him home. He was potty trained at bout six weeks old...he already know drop, stay, sit brings balls back. He is everything you said he was going to be!! He listens real good when we call him better than any dog at the dog park..Thanks MaryAnn I will try to get some better pics to put on your site.
Hello Maryanne,
I want to thank you for allowing us to bring "Lilly" into our family. She is learning very quickly, already knows Sit!!

Mike Lacey
Well the understatement is that I am a crappy dog photographer -- but you get the idea
He is every bit of 80 pounds and not fat -- mostly muscle
He is just a really big-bodied dog 23 inches at the shoulder

Luke, son of Newman and Ann, want to say "Happy Valentine's Day" to you.
Luke has been doing very well in his new family. He had first vet check in Feb 2nd. Since there, he has gained more than two pounds.
Luke is a super smart boy. Within two weeks, he has remembered his name and few commands such as "come", "sit", "lie down" and "stop". His learning capability has surprised everything. (But the potty training is another story).
All my family members feel very lucky to have him. We all want to say
Thank You & Happy Valentine's Day!
Junjun (Tom) Liu
everyone thinks he is ridgeback, Rottweiler. The hair on his back goes up whenever he gets nervous. He is such a sweet dog. Our friends just got a golden retriever and brought her over today, Summit was so gentle. He loved playing with the puppy. He has a big load bark but wags his tail all the time. LOVE HIM!
Mary Anne,
I wanted to give you an update on our boy Harley Max, he is doing fantastic and has grown to be quite a big boy (85 lbs. so far). He was a rambunctious little guy for the first few months but after a stint at the trainers he is now the perfect companion… the boys and Harley have a great time together ( I believe Harley thinks that Nic (my 6 yo) is a puppy to play with as the two of them get into more trouble than I can say… but 99% of the time it’s not Harley that starts it….LOL). I will say that Harley has become a big “mama’s boy”, there is not a step that Sherry takes that Har-man (his nick-name from Sherry) is not on her heels. Thanks so much for providing a wonderful companion to my family… he is a beautiful example of the “English” look that I asked for and we always get compliments on how handsome he is….. attached are some pics (puppy pics from Cmas of ‘12 / Pic of Nic and Har Cmas ‘13) for you to share…. Thanks again for delivering on your promise… to give a wonderful and loyal new member to our family!!
Enjoy the Pics!!!! (also posted on your Facebook page with some new pics)

MaryAnne Sterling,
Thank You again for the great Labrador, who we named Buster. He has woven himself
into the fabric of our lives. He's a very intelligent, handsome, sweet tempered guy,
and he's not even two years old yet! He enjoys going to downtown Oroville for walks and
meeting other people. We also go for a long walk/run every morning up here in
Cherokee. He has got to spend some recent nights in the house due to the freezing
temps, and also got a new bed for Christmas. And at 82 lbs, he snores like a bear.
We couldn't have received a better companion... enjoy the pictures.
Sincerely,
Ken and Lynnette Mack
Thank you so much for our dog "Hawk". He is from Buddy and Lucy's litter born Feb. 2nd 2013. He is a gorgeous dog, as you can see, and we get compliments on his looks everywhere we go. He has an outstanding temperament and I can honestly say he is the best lab I have owned.
He has plenty of energy, without being hyper. You can tell that his lines were well bred. We absolutely love him and we wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and thank you for the wonderful job that you do!
The Brama Family.
A very Happy Pup! He smiles a lot, just like his Daddy Newman although he looks more like his Mommy Promise. : )
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Daniel and Bubba, Woof! Woof!
Mary Anne,
We are very happy with Stella, she’s doing very well, housebreaking coming along fine…
We wish all of you a Merry Christmas.

Hi Mary Anne!
I'm Nikki and I received one of your puppies for Christmas! My mom and sister picked her up this last Sunday! Just giving you an update! Her name is Kona, and she is wonderful! Such a gorgeous looking girl! They wanted me to send you the video of me receiving her, and I have some pictures so I'll attach those ones too!
Thank you so much for helping them! If there is anything you need to talk to me about please feel free to do so! Thanks again!
Nikki
Hey so it's been awhile, I just wanted to let you know Cobra is doing great! I guess he is about 14 months now, wow time flies! He is definitely the greatest dog we have ever had, love him like crazy! Believe this, he has never been in trouble for anything except barking, he's too funny! If I change my tone of voice he's like oh oh lol. So smart, and loyal! Thanks again for the wonderful addition to our family :).
Hi mary anne,
Attached is a picture of sierra, she is from the parris and newman litter from may of last year. She is amazing and now that we have her we couldn't imagine our life without her. We are slowly thinking about getting another puppy! :) and we were wondering if parris is still having puppies or not? Thanks! Hope all is well!

Here’s a quick update on Missy. She’s doing great had her first birthday on Halloween. She’s had her first heat and we’re trying to hold off getting her spayed until about 18 months as recommended by our vet. She may grow a bit more but seems to be holding right about 55# which is a good size seeing how she sleeps on the bed with us. Any bigger and i’d have to find a place to sleep.LOL. She gets plenty of exercise, starting the day with a 3 mile walk with me and then a half hour of retrieving and running with some of her friends at the school yard. She truly is a great companion spending all day with me weather it’s hanging around home or out in the ocean fishing. I hope all is well with you and family, Happy Holidays…..Mike Perez Ukiah
Duke’s first Christmas with friends….
I just realized that it was a year ago today that I got Winston from you !
He is asleep under my desk here at work.
He is a loverᅠ and the PERFECT office dog -- sweet loves everyone
What is amazing is that for as chunky as he is in his build he can run all day
He loves walks and mule rides!
I was doubtful a bit at first but he sure has turned into a nice boy
Yes he does sleep on the bed with us we and we even had to buy a King because he is such a bed hog

We just wanted to give you an updated photo of our beautiful boy, Max. He is so well behaved, and such a loving boy. Our family adores him.
Bryan wanted me to tell you when he is ready we would be willing to drive out to you if you wanted to breed him, he would only ask for a puppy in return!!!
We have bragged to everyone we know about your puppies. Thank you so much for our addition to the family, we wouldnt go anywhere else for a puppy now, just sterling labs.
Sincerely,
Sarah Averill
Thank you Just an update: buddy is sleeping inside with the boys in crate but also likes their beds. No accidents or issues. He goes on morning walks, plays fetch, stays on his blanket in the living room when told, loves car rides. He did jump in our pool and then got a bath which he sat perfect for. We found his special spot for scratching his belly -lays on his back with his paws up. He is very gentle and loving. We are enjoying him so much. You and Ron did a great job training him to be such a great dog. We are so happy he is part of our family. Thank you
Hi Mary Anne,
Honey earned her Rally Obedience Advanced/Excellent Title today!! She did good and is now officially finished with Rally. Next year back to Obedience and try for the highest level, which is called Utility. I think I found a trainer to work with to help us, so over the winter we will be working on it. I sent a couple of photos of Honey and I at the trial.
Cindy
Mary Anne,
Here are 2 updated pics of the girls for your loved by others page. Hard to believe Bella Rose will be 3 next month and Maggie 3 in a few months. Bella Rose is still very mellow and Maggie just goes all the time. They go swimming at the lake 3-4 Times a week. They are a constant source of happiness for us and never hesitate to make us smile. Hope all is well with you.

DEAR STERLING FAMILY,
Just a note on how things are going here at the Brasier's.
Sorry we missed seeing you at the Fair - company here from out of town - all in love with the new "girl" of the house.
We cannot thank you enough for your time, expertise and commitment to finding the right the dog for the right family. And she is everything we had hoped for and more.
She is so smart, happy, calm and playful. As smart as my old girl is - she was never this trainable at such an early age.
Abby does all the basic command, sit, stay, fetch, wait, come, lie down, etc. She crates for 7 hours at night now and gives a soft little bark when she needs out. Has never soiled her crate and only 1 accident in the house (because the owner was so tired she fell asleep in the chair!)
She is so mellow - just as we hoped - but thought that might be years away! She fits our lifestyle perfectly - we try not to gush about her or the breeders to everyone - but it's hard not too!
She's had a great time with the grandkids in her little wading pool-we can hardly keep her out of any water...
We feel so fortunate to have her after all the drama you faced this past year. It was meant to be!
She is finished with her vaccinations and is training well to a leash. We take both of them as much as we can. Planning a week camping/cabin trip in late September - that will be an adventure!
Hope your Summer has been joyful with your kids and your great dogs!
Thank you again...

MaryAnne:
I will send you some photos in the near future, but I just had to send an update and let you know that our little black lab (named Shadow, because he follows us wherever we go!) is a real love.
Not only did our vet pronounce him "a real winner," but our trainer just asked for your information to pass on to a client of hers because she's been so impressed with him in his puppy classes.
Calm, confident, playful and snuggly -- can you ask for more than that? We can't! Thanks for such a wonderful pup!
Janet Greene
Hi MaryAnne
Just wanted to let you know how much we are just loving our Bailey. Thank you so much for breeding such a wonderful dog! Our family has adjusted again to a 2 dog family and our Ashley couldn't be happier. The first 2 weeks took some time for her to adjust to a new dog in the house but now she's back to being our happy lab and is no longer depressed being alone! We catch them outside during the day cuddling during naps and Bailey is constantly grooming Ashely. Hope all well at your ranch!
Thanks
Sarah Cruz
Dear Mary Anne,
Briscoe is now 4. I wanted him to repeat 3 so he could live longer but concept did not fly. We love him more than ever. I didn't think it possible.
He is still active with 2 big walks a day, tho he conserves more energy and they are a little shorter. Our main entertainment (walks) include very intense goalie defense with my kicking the ball or precision catching of fly balls the pitch to him or chuck-it up on any convenient hill. He tosses the ball down the hill to me. I call this his Zen time. It seems soothing to him and appears to be quality mom time.
He is my friend. I don't have to get serious with him very often and he will come even if he really wants to do something else. Recently he charged after a cat( as he is prone to do) while on leash and scared the day lights out of a young boy and his mom. I repremanded him and became very very sad for a day. He has seen 3 cats since then and has not even flinched as I say " leave it" calmly and praised him. I wonder at him.
I think of you and your family and hope you don't get tired of supplying the world with these fabulous puppies!!! Your baby girls that mothered my puppy must be so grown! I share your info often.
Btw my Brisky is 113 lb, not at all fat but vet wants him 100lb. Damn, he's handsome isn't he! Regards, joanne
What a Blessing that Big, Shinny, Beautifully Tempered and Sweet BLACK BOY IS……… did I mention BIG……" Big Mac " Is a biscuit over 110 pounds at 9 Months. My Gorgeous three year old Yellow Girl, Reagan (always presidents) , My smart Schools Teacher wife and ME are totally in LOVE with the boy. Reagan and he play all day over all parts of Labrador Land ( our 13 Ac. property bordering the national park)
He's caught a gofer, Learned to swim and chased a bear which made him so scarddy he jumped up on my lap and wouldn't move.
He has such a Soft Mouth, big long soft ears, a huge otter tail and he doesn't jump up on people and digs with the best of 'em. He could very easily top the scales at 130 lbs before it's all over…. Thank You for my wonderful son……( sorry I slipped and sent the first message too soon)
Hey!
So I just wanted to send you a picture of Cobra, he is such an awesome dog, fantastic temperament, super smart, easy going, and laid back! Also amazing with our kids! He is exactly what we were looking for! Thanks again so much!
Hi Maryanne,
I invited Katie to lay on her wet bed and I couldn't get her out of the pool.... It was so cute, she floated for a long time. Thought you would enjoy this :) happy mothers Day!
Chris
I know for kids it is hard to understand what is going on with. Even for us as adults to understand why things like this happen. He truly is a young boy with a big heart.
My son (dates Zachary's sister Nicole they have a 6 month old boy named Chance) he (Austin my son) is working in New Jersey. He come home a week ago to see Zach because he had an infection they couldn't find. They told the family he only had a few days left. They did end up finding the source of infection thank goodness and stabilized him.
Austin phone after he left the hospital to head back to New Jersey crying in the phone. He said mom I was fine until I went up to tell Zach good bye. He said Zach grabbed his hand and wouldn't let go. My son said I lost it mom. I was speechless.....
I told my son that god gave us Chance the 6 month old because he knew he was going to take Zach.
I wanted to get this precious puppy for Zach from Chance. So Chance may not know Zach but he will have a piece of him through the precious puppy.
Have a nice Sunday.
Carol
Hi Mary Anne,

Mary Anne...
Just wanted to let you know that Sadie our little yellow lab is doing well. We want to thank you for taking her back for a few days while she wasn't feeling so well. We took her to the vet for her 12 week checkup and shots and she has already gained six pounds and is growing quickly. The vet said she is doing good. She is a very smart dog...almost potty trained...can sit on command...and comes when we call her. We love her so much...she has become one of the Pope's. Thank you for providing us with such a good puppy. This picture is at 10 weeks...haven't downloaded our newest ones....but of course she is the most beautiful puppy ever.

Hi Mary Anne,
I have been meaning to email for a while now. I hope you and your family are all well! Penny is doing great and we are SO in love with her! She has the sweetest nature and makes us smile every day. She graduated puppy 1 training a couple of weeks ago and is now in puppy 2. She loves meeting new people, especially children and other dogs as well. Her favorite thing after food is belly rubs. I have attached a couple of somewhat recent pictures for you.
Take care,
Michelle & Carl
Hi Mary Anne,
Hope all is well!
Luca is doing awesome! He adjusted very quickly to both homes. We spent the weekend in Kentfield and are now in Santa Rosa. Today we will be working on some more leash training. The house breaking is going very well, only 1 accident.
Here are a couple of pics...
Thanks for everything,
Cathy
Hi Mary Ann, just a quick note to let you know how much we are enjoying "Hawk". He is a beautiful dog and is acclimating to our home very nicely. Not sure who loves him more...me, my husband, or the kids! He wags his tail when he sees each one of us in the morning, and greets us all individually, it's precious.
I wanted to also send a thank you for his blanket and the wonderful book that you provided us. I feel that you truly go above and beyond, and your puppies are the proof of that! Here's a picture, we will send more as he grow!

Thought I'd share one of our engagement photos with you... Pliny will be a year old in just a few weeks, we absolutely adore her and so does everyone who meets her. She's so smart and we couldn't have asked for a better puppy.
Thank you!

Hi Mary Anne,
I am glad things are settled for Tehya's family and you all. It was kinda stressful for me too!
I pray she does well and has a good life!!
My friend baked tons of things with the walnuts! And we got to enjoy them.
Alto is 70lbs now at 5.5 months!
I post pictures of him on your fb page but something is wrong as only my friends and myself can see them. );
Here is the most recent pic if him!

Hi Maryanne,
I've been wanting to send you a picture of the puppy that we adopted from you in November. As a reminder my husband, daughter and I came up on November 11 and picked him up. We named him Spike. He's a love and we adore him....our base boards, not so much!
All the best.

Hi Mary Anne,
I have attached some photos of Willow playing in the Colorado snow today. She is a little over 2 years old now, and doing very well.
Willow has grown to be a great companion, she is smart, well behaved and has a good, mellow temperament. She learned sign language easily, and responds very well to sign commands.
When I come home from work, she greets me carrying a stuffed toy puppy in her mouth, bumping into me and wanting to play tug of war or catch. And she loves to lie on her back for a good belly scratch.
Thanks so much for recommending this little girl, she is well loved here.
Thom
This is a 5 1/2 month old puppy made in December out of Abby and Newman. His name is Grady, Sir Grady The Great, and is such a lush. He is a joy to our family and loves everyone. We enjoy him in our lives and are so lucky and fortunate to have him.

Thank you to every one who sent us Christmas cards. Our family really enjoys your cards. Look forward to next years cards.
Hi Mary Anne,
I wanted to let you know how much Cooper’s loved and send another picture. He’s a gem and we can’t get enough of him. I’m loving every minute with him (well almost every minute). He and Maisie (his kitty)are finally getting along, sometimes I find him lying in the bed with her. It’s pretty cute. We have no more gates up. He stays out of the trash now too. Yay! We moved back to Ca from Reno and are now in El Dorado Hills, kitty adjusted fine to the move but Coop’s had some major separation anxiety issues. He was really into his routine and his day care was wonderful. So, we are still trying to get something like that here. I’m not working right now so we are hanging out a lot. We go for some fun walks and the dog park and are looking forward to the lake this summer. Oh, I wanted to thank you for his infinite love of small children. Since we moved back he is always around my nieces and nephews and I don’t have to worry at all. They range in ages from 13-1. He gets along best with the 4 year old and the baby. Weird right? So protective of them and so gentle. Now, if we can get him to stop with the jumping and crotch sniffing of the adults we’ll be good. We’re working on my mom, getting her to like Cooper. She is terrified of dogs and Cooper is a good starter dog because he is so sweet, he’s just a little boisterous. She pets him with her eyes closed and a closed fist after I say, “You better pet him or he’ll never leave you alone.” He wants to win everyone over. And if he licks her, which is a pretty good bet, she looses it.
Here are a few pictures of the love puppy. Enjoy!

Hi maryAnne,
Just wanted to say hello and to send some pictures of our sweet Penny. She's doing so well here and we couldn't be happier. I also have a video of her pulling my 2 youngest on a sled during one of our snowfalls we had. May I post that on your FB page or would you rather me send it to you!! Hope you are all doing well!!!
Our 3 yr old lab Shelby, our daughter And Cobra.
Hi Mary Anne!
I just thought I'd give you an update on Cobra...he is amazing! We are so thankful to have found you and all your puppies :) he is so well behaved and a quick learner. He was potty trained in 2 ish weeks not one accident makes for a super happy mommy! He is quite the character, playful yet calm, very obedient on his own terms. If he thinks its unnecessary to move he won't lol. He is fabulous with our kids and we all love him to pieces :) we had him for a checkup at the vet he was 19 weeks and 52 lbs!
Eight months old and still adorable!
They are wonderful dogs and we enjoy them every day.

We agree, his little personality is great. The boys love him and we look forward to making him apart of the family. He will be spoiled rotten - we will send some pics and keep you updated on his progress. Thanks for all the help and we are more than pleased with him and would recommend you to anyone who asks. God bless and Merry Christmas!
Thanks,
Ken
Dear Mary Anne, we love our dog so much. We decided to name him Grady. He was made out of Abby and Newman, and was the liter born on september 10th. He is almost a white color instead of yellow, and he still has a pink nose and pink paws. He is getting very big. He has his mothers legs, ears, tail, black eye liner, and coloring. From his dads side he ended up with his pink nose and paws, rolls of fat, blocky head, and stocky body. I have no clue who this comes from, but he loves to smile. When people walk by they think he is vicious because when he smiles he growls and shows his teeth like he is going to attack. It is pretty funny. He is quite the character. When we go outside he starts going bananas and runs around as fast as he can. Once again thankyou so much for having a wonderful dog for us. He is such a delight. once again thankyou very much, and merry christmas.
I researched lab breeders for months and visited many. I was willing to travel for hours to meet and interview breeders. I know from experience that a good choice of breeder equals the very best chance of an outstanding new member to the family for 12 years or more------ When we visited Sterling Labs I knew the minute I got out of the car that this was going to be one of the best breeders I had met. Their reputation was very strong and yet there is nothing as genuine to me as the handshake and care shown by the breeder. These folks were absolutely wonderful. We drove for many hours to get there and we were willing to spend the day if necessary ----- The Sterlings were willing to allow us al the time in the world to make a very important decision. I just could not believe their patience. What wonderful, caring people.
I asked a dozen carefully considered questions. They answered them fully and patiently. Even then, I just could not believe it. The facilities were clean, the dogs were in great shape, they clearly cared for every one of the puppies. And their breeding knowledge was considerable. I still could not believe it. We were there for hours and we had driven 3.5 hours to get there. We just could not make up our mind on a puppy after several hours of consideration. These folks and their children were treating our decision with more care and attention than I could imagine. On top of that, we still could not make a clear decision--- we were stuck between two puppies. We actually went home to consider it further.
We took a week to talk about it as a family and then the Sterlings had the patience to get on the phone with us several times. We went up to Yuba City the following week and brought home our puppy. It was the best choice we could have made. These folks are clearly some of the nicest people I have ever met and hands down the best breeders I know.
Because of their great breeding and patience we were able to choose a puppy that is perfect for our family. We would never have been able to make his kind of choice and feel so comfortable were it not for these wonderful people. I would never buy a lab from any other breeder in the world.
We are very grateful for all of their help. This puppy is turning out to be fantastic!!!
All the Best
